Art Which Can't Be Art

Allan Kaprow's article (1986) from

The Blurring of Art and Life
made the reader think outside the norm.
He wants you to find meaning in everyday life.
He refers to the act of brushing your teeth as an art form.
I thought about it and I think that it is definitely possible to think of everyday acts as art.
Taking a shower can be thought of an art form as well.
Everyone has different patterns and systematic ways of doing things in their life.
For example, do you wash your body or your hair first? Or do you wet your brush before you apply the tooth paste?
Thinking about that way your body moves during your daily activities will make you more aware of art outside the studio. Kaprow said, "I decided to pay attention to brushing my teeth, to watch my elbow moving" (pg. 219).

Patterns are considered art whether they are textiles or behavioral.

when you feel calm...
tear the paper into pieces
throw the paper into the trash
walk away
