Art Which Can't be Art
What I liked about the article was the idea that everything we do in our everyday lives becomes so much of a routine that we don't see any meaning to it. I don't mean that brushing our teeth should be this wonderful inspiring thing, but more about when we look at ourselves in the mirror, but don't truly see ourselves. As if we were just looking at a photograph more concerned with the idea of appearance than what we truly feel when looking at ourselves. If we saw a portrait at a museum, would we not stop to see every detail of it? Would we not study it as if it were telling us something about that person? So why do we not do that when we see ourselves? What is our face trying to tell us and everyone else? Maybe we choose not to truly look, because we are afraid to hear what it's telling us.
