GD prog and possbl final proj

That program seems kind of cool...im waiting to find some type of method behind it and i think ill take off with it... im really good and building programs... belive it or not haha... once i get the hang of it that is...but it takes a few questions and some time ... as of right now im leaning toward doin a game magazine for the final... that would include masthead, cover, contents page, and maybe two spread articles.... but if i get slick with this new program i would love to build a game... is that the idea of learning that any way?..for the final?... any way... just thought i would throw down some keys here on a sunday... see you tommorow....

Indigo Prophecy II

So many things I enjoy about this game.... it is a great combination of things... I was laughing today when i was pounding the <> keys to pull the kid from the pond that it was very similar to what we were enjoying with track and feild... this game brings alot of different player/skill techniques into it... there is an underlining problem solving/ search for clues thing that is probibly the most dominent tech... this exposes neat characteristics of the environment ...such as the computer screen... and keeps the rewards commin for the player... then there is this action sequence thing that is almost TEKKEN like..haha... fast thinking button response to move and defend your character... this game even had a "dance revolution" moments... such as the playing of the guitar on beat with button functions...great....as the game goes on... more and more of these things are revealed, and the basic functions we had used earlier in the game, such as mouse drags, become more complex and difficult, challenging the player...the music is also great...especially the jam in marvins apt...thats one of my favorite songs...love TKO...ahha....over all i feel like this game has so many things covered!!... its like a combination of all the games up to this point... im really looking forward to wrapn it... any one know how to get this on mac?...m

Indigo Prophecy

I wont comment on zelda too much here...cause i played it alot as a kid... well...not a ton but... in any case its a good game... but Indigo P i have never played and i thought it was great... at first I thought it might be alittle much... require to much attention for me... but as soon as i started playing it i loved it... i even want to buy the game... It draws you in like a film, which i think we all are comfortable with that feeling, so to then be able to interact with that is what hooks me.... plus this level of problem solving, while on the back of what appears to be a very concidered and interesting narrative....the dual character / perspective elelment is good to.... to play both sides and then have them meet and intertwine with eachother allows for alot of interesting game play and story development.... these type of games, because they feel like a movie... really require great narratives, unlike a game like karate champ, where most of the games value is in the moves and funny characters... i dont take karate champ as serious (thats a lie) because it doesnt require the amount of attention and focus as a game like Indigo P... so it great to see the effort put into the IP narrative, that can support the amount of "life" given by the player... like a flim... if im goin to sit in a theater for 2 hours in the dark giving all my attention to the screen... it better be worth it... IP is rewarding in he immediate level (with great character control and stuff) and rewarding on another level with this great unfolding narrative....im on that game first thing mon morning..aha...m

Ineractive storytelling...

Well I didnt get much from the linked site?...is it being updated?...hmm...as for the reading... Im stil a little unsure about some things... I get what the author is working toward... but it seems almost impossible to create a system or game that allows us to have complete control or at least the feeling of complete control and still have the freedom to hold a story... When i think about games like final fantasy, there is a pretty intersting tale, and i feel like im pretty involved in the process of moving through that tale...but i agree there is potential for greater character control of how a story unfolds...Maybe a game where there is a certain amount of "gold peices" released to a group of online players...and "tools"... and then the players manipulate tools and strategy to get the most gold (which remains a constant #) ....hmmm....im buggin out... i guess my point is that rather than have the game dicatate the characters... we have the characters dictate the game.... like poker...poker is always the same amount of cards.... same rules...yet no game is ever the same... each character's decision dictates the direction of the game.... now it would be a matter of getting a story in there...hahahah....they could be rabbits playing poker for carrots... and starving tribes of rabbits watch these poker games praying that there tribe brings home food.....

AFMP

this game was kind of fun... I actually didnt want to take a break and keep playin for the whole class.... I wasnt to concerned with the lack of graphics or sound... i thought i would be.... It seems like a pretty difficult game that would require a decent chunk of life to get throught...and i cant say that it would stimulate me enought to make a time sacrafice for it... but i did enjoy the game... I think that if i had experience or had read the entire manual that i would have enjoyed it even more...cause there were moments where i was just fraternizing my ass off for like 30 days ...lol....

The force....

well first off... i discovered what the wierd smell comming from my bag all semster was...its the players guide to this game!... where was it printed...?..it smells like hockey equipment!?...any way... this game didnt seem to interesting when i recieved the book at the begining of the semester but i think after playing america's army, i ma intersted to see what this one is about... i like that fact that its a training tool first and a game second... even tho i think AA is too but they just wont say it out loud... a force more powerful looks like a sim city type game... the objective appears to be that we have to create some type of movement based on choosen goals... against an already established regime or government..and through strategies and plans, we come up with ways to make moves politically...seems a little more tech than track and feild thats for sure...lol... but intersting none the less... i think that because we are conditioned in most games to shoot somthing.. this game will need to rely on interesting characters and scenario's to keep the "player" interested and stimulated... can we create our own characters?...ill give the guide a more thourough read tonight and ill see you guys tommrow...
