Waco Ressurection

Waco Ressurection.

You play as a ressurected David Koresh. All about the American Religious apocalypse. It seems like a very involved game, where you talk to all sorts of different people, wield weapons, radiate charisma. Eddo Stern has done a lot of projects. This one I think was a collaboration between many people. Also interesting is that it looks like people have to wear pixel masks when playing the game. It seems that Eddo Stern is very interested in puttin this virtual aspect into the physical.

One idea for a game I had would be a FPS where instead of shooting guns you are a photographer "shooting" photographs. Could be complex and narrative game. IE try to find leads for a story and follow up on it.

Or it could be less complex. Maybe you are dropped in a war zone and you have to take photos and you see troops involved in a massacre and you have to photograph without being seen and get away without getting your camera smashed.

Maybe as part of the narrative you can choose to cover a press conference or choose to interview people on the street, and also maybe part of the narrative of the game is dealing with editors who only want to publish certain things.

Maybe you are a photographer in a nation with less media freedoms, and you have to deal with police harrassment etc.

Another Idea for a game is one where instead of fighting OPFOR you are part of a massacre. Abu Ghraib or the more recent one with the Marines.

This could be a detailed mission, maybe your mission is to get information out of a prisoner. You can choose a couple of different tactics. Befriending, violence... Maybe instead of the interrogator you are the prisoner? What would that be?

Andy:

I like your game ideas. In 3D programming the various views, including the first person view are called cameras. I think it will be possible to implement a simple version of this using 3D GameStudio in the second half of the semester.
