Definition of Cool

From this reading, it seems like the general definition of "cool" always moves towards the idea of the antithesis, or breaking away from some kind of norm. In ways being "cool" is being somwhat rebellious in todays society. It seems that in a way it seems that it is doing something different from the norm. I feel that the term "cool" can have very different meanings, afterall it is such a general term that is almost universial used. For example, when the term cool is when saying "thats cool, dont worry about it", its more of a neutral, not good or not bad term. When you say that someone is cool, its saying that they are in a way unique and set themselves aside from others. When it is used socially, i feel that a person is labeled "cool" when they feel they are an individual who is able to stand alone, and at the same time are in touch with things such as trends and pop culture but just choose to not be a product of them totally. Another major thing that is important to understand the meaning of the term is that what gives "cool" its meaning is not who is used towards, but who is using it. Every person has there own individual definition of the term "cool".
