Abstration in the video game, and my childhood favorite Zaxxon

As I was reading this artical, this video game that I played on my old Ibm when I growing up came to mind. this game like many described in the artical had a crued repesentation of a spaceship that you had to navagate through a narrow space hall dodgeing walls and lasers. the game consisted of only 4 colors white, pale blue, purple, black. what I thought more about it after the reading is that there was a large aount of abstration to the game that I had never thought about. the games view point is a 3 quarter view of the back of the that moves down a diagonal strip of terrain that is only about 3 inching wide, the rest of the screen is compeletly black. the viewer was ment to accept the large amount of un-used black space and could interput its meaning base on there imagination. For example at the same time that I was playing Zaxxon I was also a huge fan of Star War. I thought of the game was a simalar to the sence where luke is flighting the xwing in the equator of the death star.
