I have a friend who joined the marines a few years back.. he was the type of guy who would always be into shooting/violent video games. Before joining the force he was stoked about joining the army, but since he first started serving in Iraq things have changed drastically... and from what i was told.. he really regrets it! I'm pretty sure shooting/violent games had some effects on his decision making process when joining the marines.

Thanks for that personal observation about your friend. I wonder whether video games are still too cartoonish to make people feel they're really involved in violent acts.
