"I want to eat your nuts"

I wanted to create an animation for a game with a local subject matter. At CCA Oakland campus there is a large squirrel population. The squirrels are like none other, they eat candy bars and some time attack students. In particular there is a squirrel named pity with one eye that has an interesting diet for live birds. Previously we saw pete eat a bird on top of the lame sculpture in Oakland. I wanted to base a game around this ruthless squirrel murderer. Previously there was a game that was based on jaws the movie. The game is known as Jaws unleashed where you the shark would travel through out the ocean feasting on unsuspecting fishermen and beach goers. This is what i hope my video game could be about. Petey the squirrel will be the user character as he roams the campus of cca he will attack unsuspecting animals and art students to become bigger and stronger. Along with scenario missions i hope to have a a sandbox style of environment which will allow the user free rain over the map. Pete will start out small and tiny, he will begin attacking other smaller animals such as cats and other squirrels. As the game progresses his targets will get larger and larger until he begins to attack students the faculty and the animal control. The combat system will consist around a move based formula. For example the hulk and spider man video games, where as the user progress he or she gains more moves accessible to the character. Yet unlike those games pete will be more clandestine with his attack on the npc's diffrent then the straight ahead hulk smash and hulk bash approach to things. All and all this game will be a mockery on all sand type box video games. It will be PURE HORROR the STORY of PETEY the SQUIRREL. "I want to eat your nuts."

Pete the Squirrel

My project will center around a character which is known through out the Oakland campus. This character is Pete the Squirrel. This squirrel has one eye and enjoys to dine on birds and other living things through out he area. In fact my freind Deitrich saw pete eat a dead brd on top of the lamb sculpture in oakland. All that was left of the birds remains where the spinle cord and bits of flesh that Pete thought was unworthy to eat. So my Final Projest will center around some concept art of this character called pete. For the game that i want to design, I want pete to be the main character of the video game. So My project will concist around concept art of Pete and some animation of the squirrel like some pre animation before the game starts. I will concist of mostly point of view shots of Pete Stalking his Prey.

Indigo Prophecy

This is a game that is simply like reading a book, yet is interactive. You make decisions in the game which may reveal a different outcome later on in the game. For example in the first chapter where the murder kills the victim if you, pay your bill, turn on the juke box and clean up the mess in the bathroom it will be harder for the waitress to get an on you. While if you forget the bill she will be a lot more descriptive with her interview with the police inspector. I find the game fun, yet i believe that the Simon Says attack system is faulty. Some times even when i hit the correct button it won't respond. I believe if the had more of a dance dance revolution arrow system it would be quite better. There is also a nice pace to the game. When i first played it i enjoyed the music and the slow pace at which the story revealed it self. Yet this is a game that you only really can play once and possibly twice depending if they have different endings. Personally i enjoy the interactive nature of this game in comparison to a movie or a book. Yet there is something about a movie that i love when you can just curl up in your bed and watch the movie from a distance. Though this game reminds me a bit of Ergodic Literature. In the case of how the story unfolds. There is a center and it kind of spider webs out. There is a nice quality of non linearity with hopping around from one character to another. This game reminds me a lot of kings quest. Where you play as a adventurer in search of some treasure. Yet in the case of Kings quest it was very much Linear. With out the golden egg you cannot cross the bridge. Even though the map was large and it seemed as if you could explore the world you where forced to do things in order. In the game the Indigo Prophecy you have a variation in store line with the aspect of jumping form one character to another. This jumping from one character to another reminds me of more a movie then a book which Kings Quest was emulating. Yet even with the character jumping you where still confined to the story line. It was not like grand theft auto where you can decide to kill a bunch of people if you so choose. Yet if you killed a bunch of people in the Indigo Prophecy the story would change. Over all I liked this game even though it was a pretty much a "video game for dummies." I enjoyed the story which a lot of mainstream video games are lacking. Though this game could have easily have been a movie.

Is this a scam Ergodic cyber something

I really struggled to read this article. Is this actually real? Is this actually a scam? Is there real language and information hear? Is narratology or ergodic actually a word? This guy is straight up on crack. He defines ergodic and cybertext and trys to explain that there is meaning behind it, yet by the time i finished the reading i was more confused then when i started. I even got it translated and couldn't figure it out. This article feels as if the author was over educated and loves to have fun with vocabulary so he made this monstrosity of an article to confuse the reader. This is what i got from the article. There is some sort of cybertext out there that is non linear and does something important. Yet it is not confined to the computer. Instead there is many examples of cybertext, (that could mean ergodic literature) from the past that don't use the computer. Such as the hieroglyphics in temples. Also there are labrinths that are like nets that lead to one point, yet from that point they have infinet possibilities and infinet endings. I guess how this relates to the class is that you the user of a game could be the center of the net and there are infinite possobilities out there from the starting point. This shows us how kids want to feel like they have more then one path then just one linear path by reading a book. Still i don't think the author knows what he is talking about and did to much coke because from the way he is talking he seems to have fried his brain.

A force more powerful

A force more powerful is a force to suck. This game reminds me of a bad board game. I believe that they should have saved the money on making this a computer game and made this game into a bastardized version of dungeoun and dragons. First and fore most there is no audio besides some city sounds. I need dialogue or if i am fighting a dictator some sort of propoganda load speakers. Second there is absolutely no animation and the animations that are in the game look like they are from the 1996 version of command and conquer although command and conquer you could actually mpove your units around and not just watch a city. When i was doing the mission of overthrowing a dictator, maybe hav a bunch of billboards of him and as i progress you may show them with graffitti on them or even torn down. This game needs some sort of visual imagery to tell the user if he is doing good or bad. Also to much fund raising and reading. A video game you should not have to read an ass load of things unless it is final fantasy or some long role playing game that inserts action with plot. As i said a force more powerful is a force to suck.

Materialism at its Finest Katamari

THe game Katamari Damaci is definetly one of the more unique games out there. It revolves around a dung beetle with a special ball that travels the world tying to make the biggest ball he can. THere is a comical aspect to the game since you can pic up everything in the level, once your ball gets big enough. For example a whale or a giant radar dish, but you have to work your way up to this level by grabbing people then cars and trees then houses. I like this game because it pokes fun of american materialism. It has the perfect american mentality of i must obtain every material good to be happy. I have played this game, while it is quite fun the controls are a bit difficult to get used to and the graphics aren't the greatest, but great gameplay and the soundtrack in hilarious. I love Japanese pop music. Also they just came out with a sequel to this game called Beautiful katamari, you can play this on X-BOX 360. It has customizeable characters, more levels and better graphics.

Crack baby Halo God

This is a montage of my good friend Doug Pascale who goes by the name ey3deaa He is a Halo legend he has been sponsored and goes to tournments and gets payed to play Halo. For a couple months he was number one in the world and is still one of the top Halo players in the world. This kid has supper ADD, so when he gets stuck on something and actually focuses all of his attention to it he is unstopable. Doug is naturally good at any video game especially first person shooter and sport games. JUst watch the video it is awesome.

"Bad Guys"

I found the comment of bad guys very interesting. In the army they use the term bad guys when engaging the enemy. It seems they use this term to dehumanize there opponent. Just like in Half-Life the soldiers that u fought in the beginning of the game are waring gasmasks and flack jackets, so if u kill them u don't care that they died even though they might have kids or need this job to support there family. It is the same in America's army most of the bad guys are waring ski masks. They do this in films as well if they don't want you to care about the character they cover there faces. I also find it fasinating that the army is taking advantage of the adictive nature of people who play games. Adults and kids spend hours upon hours playing video games I guess whatever works to get your propoganda out. See this question of violence that you ask us is a very heated debate in the gaming community. Some people say by playing violent video games will release peoples violent tendencies and calm them down. Yet on the other side it may increase there violent tendencies because there is a reste button and kids may get the inclenation that they are god. Just reecntley there was a bunch of robbings nere rockridge where a group of kids aging between 14 and 12 robbed 10 people in 3 hours. You can say that violent games effected these kids going out and robbind people, but that is just a cop out. Personally i don't think it decrease or increases the violent rates of America. I believe that anyone who has a violent tendency will find an excuse one way or another to take action.

Show and tell and question answer

while searching the web i came across the greatest come back street fighter movie ever. I thought it is hillarious how this game haas evolved from a simple 2-d based fighting game to still a slightly more complex 2-d fighting game. Still ther are street fighter tournements but this is rediulous i rember when this game was at seven eleven and there was a line of about 6 people that was a orginal tournment. Now there are concert halls full of people in watching these video game gods. In my midterm project i will explore the MSL the major strarcraft league. About what games where based on Dragon Quest any basic adventure hack and slash game such as diablo and dynasty warriors.

"The Greatest Game Ever"

King of Dragons is one of the best side scrollers in the history of 2-d side scrollers ever. First and foremost you have 5 characters 2 choose from a wizard, elf, fighter, cleric and dwarf. T hrough out the game they get upgraded with supper power full weapons. For example in end game the wizard shoots a green flame out of his staff, which is far superior to that of his fire bolt in ealry game. TGhere is endless varation in bosses for example a mintour and a tree full of SPOOKY spiders. The final boss is nearly impsossible and there is no way to beat this game unless it is hacked because u die all the time. WATCH out for the CYCLOPS SMASH.
