As i red the article i was really intrigued with the part in which the author describes a video game as an abstract painting. This totally makes sense as i was playing space invaders i realized that there is a very concrete composition to the game screen. Everythinng is balanced and even with the aliens while you (the tank) are alone at the bottom of the screen trying to defend earth from the alien attack. There is chaotic movement in the game as the aliens strucggle towards u in an effort to conquer earth. This chaotic yet systematic movement reminds me of a Rothko painting. If you look closely at a Rothko, the colors seem very ordered yet when the colors meet there is clash and out comes some crazy chaotic movement. After reading this article i want to use some of the abstract elements in the video games in my work. Using video games compositions and user characters, juxtuposing them with everyday life scenes.

Some nice observations on the abstract art and space invaders. Great that this has inspired something new in your work.
