Indigo Prophecy tells the story of Lucas Kane, he shoved into a dark and arcane situation when he finds himself stabbing a man in a restroom at a diner. Kane isn't able to control his actions and has no idea what drove him to such a grizzly crime. On his trail are two New York City police detectives, Carla Valenti and Tyler Miles. I love the perspective playing through of all three characters, switching through various points in the game. The narrative blends suspense, occult and mystery. I can't imagine if i had to read the story as a book or see it in a movie perspective. I think i might became too dry, seem overly redone d - solving a murder mystery with a twist. But by playing the game, it engages the attention of the players and i also like the fact that there are many options during the game play. For instance, toward the beginning of the game when Carla was calling Tyler to get to work, Tyler was in bed, but as he got up, if you controlled him toward his girlfriend, there was a little heart sign- he actually went back to bed and gave some loving to his girl. I thought that was pretty funny.
The other aspect i like about this game is the mental realness. Even the most little details could effect the character's mood, stress level, anxiety level, like drinking water, going to bathroom, or simply playing with yo-yo can release stress level, but if you pick up old photos or have something trigger bad memory could increase your stress level. The control of this game is fairly easy. most the the action play is about timing which for me is easy to get a hang of it.
In comparison of Indigo Prophecy and the older games that we've played like- King's Quest and Zelda, no doubt the graphic is super refined and the story is way more complicated and thoughtfully thought out. More than just a game, it's like a movie. compare to King's Quest and Zelda, I would definitely play this game again.
I was going to put some other screenshots on here, but as i quit the program, the game didn't save. =(
