Andy:

Really nice review! A couple of fairly minor comments: images should be titled; all 3d games use graphics engines - although some may be better than others. We'll be looking more into this. I am curious to find out how much impact our in-game choices made on the narrative. Did it make any difference to the story that I mucked up the guitar playing? Would my ex-girlfriend have thrown herself into my arms and joined me for the rest of the game (story)? The problem I find with playing a story character is that they would obviously have a huge amount of knowledge of themselves and their environment, which would cut out a lot of trial and error in the game. To be "realistic" I would somehow have to have that knowledge. Well, I guess it's just a story, not real life. One difference between a movie and a game is that the game slows down the narratative by intricate game play (open cupboards, playing guitars, etc) and by many replays (ten times to get by those big bugs?). Perhaps these aspects make more connection between the player and the characters.
