This reminds me of that research program in London and the digital school's Microsoft has been setting up. I think the key is the concept of accidental learning. I don't know if "accidental" is the right word though. This type of learning seems to be a standard occurence when taking a leadership role. Calling it and "accident" is almost like trying to say it's still nothing mmore than a "harmless diversion" but every once in a blue moon someone occasionally learns something accidentally.
Heh and on a side note. The last guild I was in splintered because our guild leader talked a lot about wanting the guild to be like a family (traditional family values anyone?) but he continually stripped the officers of any power until only he could make any decisions that would influence the guild. Wanting to be like a happy family but wanting to have total control on every aspect of the guild, sounds like our current government body if you ask me!
